OUR STORY

Black-and-white portrait of Hortensia, Katherine’s grandmother and the namesake of ORTENSE.
Dried hydrangea flower and leaves made from layered paper, with a crinkled brown flower and a pinkish-orange leaf.

My grandmother’s name was Hortensia. No one could pronounce it, so she’d say, “Call me Hortense.” I dropped the H for simplicity.

This shop is my love letter to her—and to the idea that the things we choose can carry memory, beauty and meaning forward.
